Situated in the hills between the orange groves you will find an oasis of peace, while in just half an hour you are in the center of Valencia or on the beach.
It is a small paradise where you will immediately feel at home. Our place makes you feel grounded in our Villa of the Earth.
Welcome to Villa de la Tierra
From the moment we first entered the house and grounds of what is now Villa de la Tierra, we felt a magical atmosphere. This feeling is confirmed time and again by the many guests we have had the pleasure of welcoming here.
Although it was already a true paradise, we still work daily to make it even more beautiful.
The Villa
The heart of our domain is the Villa. The house has two floors. The top floor is our private living area. The ground floor is at the level of the largest part of our grounds. Here you will find three comfortable guest rooms and a spacious, shared and cozy kitchen. This kitchen opens onto the large balcony terrace, where you can enjoy the coolness even in the summer, thanks to the shade and the soft breeze from the sea.
Shade and peace everywhere
Villa de la Tierra offers a pleasant climate, even on hot days. This is due to the many large trees that provide natural cooling. Take for example the Nannaterras, a lovely place that invites you to relax in every season and at any time of day.
Our Casita is also located on the Nannaterras. We use this space as a treatment room, relaxation area or cosy living room.
Enjoy nature
Place yourself in a hammock in the Joena park, or visit the Liene square to meet the animals up close. Behind the animal shelter is the Fos forest, where there are two caravans. Sometimes we rent these out, and other times they offer shelter to our Workaway-ers.
From the large panoramic terrace you can enjoy a beautiful view of Valencia, the Mediterranean Sea and the Albufera lake.
A swimming pool and more
In the lowest part of our grounds is our lovely swimming pool (next to Casa Deseo). This is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Our grounds are versatile and offer something unique in every place.
And everywhere applies: you feel at home, surrounded by nature and peace.
Rooms
Our three double rooms offer a real hotel experience and a beautiful view of Valencia and the Mediterranean Sea.
All rooms have two single beds, which can also be placed separately. The rooms are equipped with a fan for cool air during the wonderful summers.
The adjacent bathroom has a toilet, rain shower and glass wash basin. There is ample storage space.
For the real hotel experience, there is crisp white bed linen, which is wonderfully cool in the summer and comfortably warm in the winter.
Casa Deseo
Poolhouse Casa Deseo will be ready in the spring of 2025. What used to be a stable full of junk is now a lovely apartment located directly at the pool.
Poolhouse Casa Deseo has a spacious double bedroom, a small bedroom for two people, bathroom and separate toilet. The nice living room has a sitting and dining area and a kitchen. The living room and bedrooms are equipped with fans.
Casa Deseo has its own access from the road. Due to its location, it is therefore a perfect place for winterers.
Villa pool
Welcome to the lowest part of our grounds, a place to completely unwind.
Sit down on the soft grass and make optimal contact with the earth, or relax on the comfortable loungers around the large swimming pool.
Here you can enjoy plenty of space and privacy to sunbathe.
Our swimming pool was completely renovated in 2023 and is maintained in an environmentally friendly way with a salt installation, without the use of chemicals.
In the sunniest corner of the pool you will find a cozy (in-pool) sitting area. With a length of over 9 meters, the pool is also ideal for swimming laps.
From this spot you can enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of Valencia and the Mediterranean Sea.
Kitchen
The kitchen is the heart of Villa de la Tierra.
Here you can meet other guests while preparing your breakfast, lunch or dinner.
When the season allows, we share fresh eggs from our chickens and fruit from our gardens.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the balcony terrace, where you can enjoy a refreshing sea breeze. It is the ideal place to meet the other guests.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator, electric oven and hob, so you have all the comforts you need.
Casita
On the Nanna terrace is our lovely Casita.
Feel free to come inside and experience the peace you will find here due to the serene atmosphere and beautiful stained glass windows.
We use the Casita for workshops and treatments, but you can always sit here to meditate, read or just be.
In the cooler winter period, the Casita is also used as a living room.
Villa farm
Villa de la Tierra: a place where animals are central!
On the grounds, between Liene Square and Fos Forest, you will find a large animal enclosure. Mainly poultry lives here, such as chickens, peacocks, turkeys and guinea fowl, but also two curious goats.
Did you know that all our animals have their own name? Feel free to ask; we will be happy to introduce them to you!
You will also regularly encounter our three friendly tomcats: Red, Orange and Green.
They like to roam around the grounds and really make Villa de la Tierra a home.
Nina
A special mention is in order for Nina, the cockatoo.
She will gladly greet you with a "Hola Guapa" and likes to make herself heard.
You will often find her on Marco's shoulder, but also in one of her cages; on the Nanna terrace, on the Liene square or upstairs at our own home.
She loves attention so feel free to have a chat with her or make her happy with your singing skills or music. She will show you her joy exuberantly.
Panoramic terrace
The panoramic terrace is our largest terrace. Here you have a wide view of Valencia city, the Mediterranean Sea and the Albufera lake. In clear weather you can even see the Montgo mountain of Denia.
The panoramic terrace is also the sunniest terrace of Villa de la Tierra. Especially in winter you can catch the last bit of sunshine here.
There is nothing nicer than staring into the distance and letting your thoughts run free. You will live here after all.
Joena-park
The Joena Park (named after our oldest granddaughter) is a lovely park garden where you can relax in a hammock or on the swing bench.
There are various fruit trees and a cactus garden.
Enjoy the trees, plants and the surprises that are hidden in between.
Nanna-terrace
On the Nanna terrace (named after our second granddaughter) you can sit wonderfully under the tall trees in the shade.
It has an intimate atmosphere and is a nice place for a long summer evening.
At the spacious table the most beautiful conversations have been had, wonderful dinners eaten, wines drunk, parties and laughter. The magic is often palpable.
Fos-forest
Behind the farm is the Fosbos (you guessed it, named after the third grandchild and only grandson). The campsite of Villa de la Tierra.
Here we have a caravan for our own use and a caravan that we sometimes rent out or use to accommodate Workaway-ers.
Sometimes family or friends with a small camper or caravan come here to visit us.
Liene Square
The Lieneplein (named after our youngest granddaughter) is a part of the terrain that has not yet been tackled by us, but for which we already have some nice ideas.
In the future, an Ibiza style outdoor kitchen with pizza oven and BBQ area will be created here. A large residence for Nina will also be built here.
